Dear 101111

Nice job with the game. the art style plus the animations was well done and well executed too.
Such a shame though that it ended on such a short notice. I like the idea of using mirrors as a way to traverse the platforming stage. At first I was expecting a simple dull platformer but I was surprised yet again. Although what bothered me is that it took a considerably long time before introducing the unique feature of the game. I would suggest adding quirky and quiant comments in the game. Like when the game is ridiculing you, or trying to be zany and make a joke that would eventually lead to a lesson to be learned in the game. Inspired by "Give UP" and other platformers.
Would make it funny and more intriguing too. On other news, there should be a limit to the amount of plugging in glass mirrors. There seems to be an overbearing amount of allowed glass mirrors where only 50% of it is needed to complete a stage. Furthermore I'd suggest adding laser turrets and more obstacles that utilizes this new glass mirror mechanic. Its also kinda unfair well for the game that you can move the glass mirrors freely once you placed them. I would suggest locking them in place once plugged in the game. Despite all of these flaws (also I would've pointed out the flaws like the music and menu but you already pointed it out) and suggestions, I'm interested to see what this game would entail more in the future. (Why not add a bit of story while you're at it?)

Thank you very much for your detailed review :)

Yes, the mirrors should have been introduced in the earlier levels.most of the players didn't even bother to play until that level. The mirror movement and limit to the number are just to let the player play around with the reflections, but in the game they were supposed to be increased with complexity of the puzzles if i were to finish it.
This is actually the first game i have ever started and i had no idea what i was doing. I planned a story for this game in which the protagonist goes to coma and has to go through level after level of
dream/limbo thing in order to get out of it. I wasn't sure if this could be considered as a game and if
people would like it and abandoned the project and started working on other things.

Do you think that this game is worth finishing?
I feel that the mirror thing is kind of gimmicky and does not fit the game, what do you think about that?

Dear Kainante and co.

First of all. Nice game you got here. It seems that it has lots of promise and potential. Great work with the 3D art and models. But there are lots of things that hold this back for being a really enjoyable game. So what I'm going to do here is organize the things into a list that bothered me and some of my ideas/suggestions so that my utter mess of a review wont be so incoherent and convoluted:

-The controls were a bit slippery and confusing due to the animations that affect it as well as the mouse and screen bug.

-Sounds are usually not in sync with the animations. Like for example when I click in rapid succession. I can hear the sword swing but not see my character swing it for some reason. Furthermore the walking. Its obvious you can see the problem here as the character tends to slide first before actually doing the animation.

-Animations are scanty. This is a major letdown considering the potentiality of the game. What I mean its insufficient and its slow. Not slow due to lag of my computer but slow reactions in corresponds to attacking and or walking. For example. When I am able to swing my sword at the enemies, they do indeed flinch like their being hurt but they don't stagger. Like as in to show that I hit them. Its unclear if I even hit them. Or if they even hit me.

-AI of the enemies, especially the companions/brainwashed minions you possessed are very dense.
possessed minions dont even attack and just become meat shields. I tried every button to make them attack but they don't. But I should expect that they attack automatically when I'm near an enemy.

-Talking about the mouse and the screen bug, What that means is that usually when I move my mouse to control the camera ingame. The mouse just obnoxiously goes outside of the screen and into the background, where not just I lost the entire screen focus, but it also had me unwarrantedly scrolling the browser. This is a real letdown considering most games have the mouse fixed and stay in its own game screen.

-Music is just ambience. Well no problem with ambience music since it gives the atmospheric vibe to the game...(despite its flaws) Its flaw though is that it loops. This can ruin that vibe and just be downright annoying. Same for SFX. Its pretty insufficient. It lacks alot of SFX that is really needed to make the game more...How you say..."attractive"?

-Suggestions would be to fix most of these problems and add a story into it. There was a vague or lack of explanation to how I got to where I am, and how I got to what I am. Like how did I get that sword? How did I become a demon? how did I get those tattoos? Anyways just a heads up. Also I'd suggest fighting some demons too if you hadn't put that in. It would make sense since you're also some kind of humanoid demon yourself.

Basically this review all goes down to that the game is visually appealing but lacks the "game" part in it. Its technically an unfinished, unpolished beta version of a game which I believe don't belong here. But if you're fishing for feedback here's what I can do for you. Sorry but this is not really interesting. Try to make it more...Well, Interesting. Cheers!

Thanks for the review and the video jaja

First of all , this game is not supossed for web, but when we finish the game, I thought upload it better so that friends can see it, to stay dead on a hard drive.

I didn't expect any reactions, but yea your correct on the review, the are our first game, we just met early, and the time strangling us, and that was the result, not bad at all I think and we present ourselves with other games in the curse. Thanks one more time

dear kotfind

Well you made a game. But its basically just a barebones minimum of what you can expect from a full game. Also if you would have enough time to invest. Why not translate most of the interfaces. As most of the people playing that you should consider are mostly oriented with English. There's music yes but no sfx. Sfx would really make it more appealing but still this game is a bare minimum of a full game like I said before. Try to delve on this a little bit before you upload it here. But if you're fishing for feedback I don't believe you should start here. I would suggest you post it on your FB, or your friends or get some professional help. The idea is too simple, try to make it stand out more. And I almost forgot. I apologize for the low score. Its because this game is a bit unpolished/unfinished. Delve on this a little bit more and add more features and come back here if you're ready. Kudos to a working game...Its just not interesting enough sorry.

dear FuckingHardGame

Hello good sir, Well you got a decent game working and it seems playable yes but I see lots of problems here that I would personally be nitpicky about and I hope you're reading this with an open mind. Nice of you to post it on your FB and

-the music loops..Too much and after awhile it switches to another soundtrack but it sounded really annoying. Not well organized and its like the melodies are trying to overlap itself. This I think is your soundtrack? Well good job on making one just that its really obnoxious. It could just be a monotonic, 8bit or uplifting track to induce that rage and determination into trying to win your obstacle course.

-Some buttons and menu textures arent working for some reason. You might wanna delve on the functions a bit more. Like the QUIT button acts more like a troll button that doesnt let you do anything.

-There are two loading screens really? A unity loading screen then another loading screen after the first.
-Game is hard I say but too hard and it would repress casual gamers like me to give up and I'd surmise they'd leave this game a bad impression. Not an impression you would like. If you want people to rage on the game for their unskillful endeavors, then make the game creatively interesting and hard at the same time. Which makes the player not just rage on the game but keep on playing as if they needed to finish it cause it has fixated their attention.
- The hitbox is a bit too wide, seems kinda unfair dont you think?
- I suggest to contrive meticulous checkpoints so that the player would have a breath of fresh air and some sanity left when they overcome parts of your obstacles.
-Furthermore I'd suggest to make this game progressively hard. Not just ON THE SPOT hard on the first levels. Give your players the time and make them feel comfortable at first then go all out and make the next levels hard.

Sorry to be nitpicky but anyways I gotta commend you though for making a game. It has quaint animations and style to it. But it just all boils down...Well HARD. I know I suck at this but I hope I got the point across to you. Sorry for being incoherent. I just write what I feel like writing.

FuckingHardGame responds:

Hello, first thank you for your review. Certainly know that the game is not perfect. As a developer, I see my game in a little better light than it actually is. So it was nice to read your mind :) (Do not be afraid to be nitpicky)

If you've visited my FB or a website, you know that the game is only in the second beta. So many things will be added. Now to what you wrote.

The music is terrible. I know it. That's because I'm not a composer and all three songs I wrote quickly enough simply to make the game not silence :) but I hope soon I'll find someone who could make a better soundtrack.

Quit button does not work because the game was originally released on the PC (there is a quit button needed), but when porting to websites feature QUIT "disappeared" and now it is useless. Soon I remove That button :).

The game is hard it's true. Anyway, it is true that the first level is unnecessarily difficult. Very happy to do a few easy levels. :)

Checkpoints ... I do not know. The first idea was to make the game hard like Super Meat Boy or the first Bit Trip Runner. No checkpoints. On the other hand, I know that my game is totally different from the ones I've mentioned. Well ... Checkpoints wants more people, so I'm starting to think about them. But no promises.

If you make a video, so do not forget to send a link. :)

Dear Avalti

Game looks scanty and unfinished. Im sorry but Its playable only for awhile till the problems come out and its hard not to notice them. There are alot of errors too here and there. Game lacks alot of things so I'll make a list of things that would help you sort out and fix it:

-No loading screen and start screen. Game just abruptly put you in...well the game without any prior preparation.
-I can shoot whilst in the countdown screen before the game starts.
-Coins dont save even after you quit the game
-the speech bubbles only appear and dissappear with the use of a timer. Why not make them disappear when the mouse hovers over another option, so that it wont congest the screen with info.
-Low texture text
-No ingame models...Only boxes? How is this related to "Apocalypse?"
-My player box is shooting gray spikes as projectiles. But considering the upgrade store. It should at least look like a gun shooting bullets.
-Only one background?
-No stats to show the coin count
-Player doesnt flinch when hit, (This I believe would fix some balancing issues)
-If I spam space the projectile also loops. This is a bit redundant. Would you mind letting the projectile move through without looping? Thanks.

Anyways its good that you have a base game I commend you for that. It just has alot of problems that are pretty hard not to notice which pulls it down. ALso dont forget to make it interesting. Not just playable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out! Although I made this a long time ago and am aware of many of these issues, I will still keep this in mind in any future games I create :)

Dear Badsplay

Well all I could say here is that this game is unplayable.
The screen doesn't stay in the game window when I press my arrow keys the screen shifts left and right as if I was actually controlling the screen instead of my player but concurrently I was controlling both. Its also nauseating at times. I cant move and I cant jump (I have to press the up button twice to jump) without moving the screen at the same time.

Also there is no music and it has scanty sfx. Furthermore when I die, the counter still goes on and the game doesn't restart for some reason then I realize I have to be the one myself to restart the stage. There should at least be some convenience. Also the backgrounds and theme of the game doesn't relate even close to a prison and a maze. Its just a blue stick avoiding obstacles.

I would suggest if this is by clickteam fusion make it relative to it and make it like an endless runner. Where you click to jump. Anyways I would commend though that you got a working game. The movements weren't all that slippery and their smooth enough for me to move around with ease.

Badsplay responds:

Thanks for the honest review, the problem of the screen I had in all my games and I cant fix it, I would add a background when I released the demo, but I guess that if I dont fix thoose stuff I wont even release it, I did not experience any problem with the jump but I will test it, and the graphics are really bad because I made this game to test the platform mecanic.
Thank you, ~Badsplay

Dear RedMothGames

Right off the bat, the game is awfully similar to flappy bird. Heck, its a somewhat direct copy of it, only its mechanics are reversed. You die by not falling but you die by "diving" too far, and also The logic of losing a round here doesn't make sense. Hitting the floor bed doesn't reel you a lose, even yet kill you. You could've added spikes below for it to be conducive enough to be accepted as a way to avoid it. Didn't know floor beds are that lethal.

But anyways, the music (even though I'm surprisingly liking it) is blatantly looping. Also not to nitpick here but I have to point out why would you put the mute button at the center of the menu screen? Speaking of menu screen, It just doesn't fit with the music and all. You could've just simply put in a sea floor background and some splash pages, so that you wont spoil the content of your game. Since at the menu screen, I've already seen all the characters and things that I would see in your game once I played it.

Game is simple..But too simple and it has been done to death. I apologize for the low score, But I gotta commend you though for the effort into making this, its working but its not appealing. Speaking of appealing the animations are scanty. They lack to little to no animation at all. Its like Im controlling moving pictures. But anyways good job with the foundation of the game. I believe this is just a base game but You could do better.

Thank you for your feedback. This is our first game and like you say we are just testing what we can do but we do want to make the best games for everyone we can. If we can improve it in anyway then we will go out our way to make it better. This game was really made purely for mobile play as the game works better on mobile and tablets but we just wanted to release it in flash version to make sure we can also make flash games. We hope our next few games will make you want to rate them higher and we will do everything we can to make the best games possible for you and everyone else. Sorry that you felt you had to rate it that low but we will try harder to please and improve. Thank you once again for imput

Dear Kingpirux

This would be a cool and casual game to play but its too short, too simple. I gotta commend you though for the art style and animations. their smooth and appealing but you could've added more into this.

Like for example...Levels. This could not just be only one level right? I mean games on the portal have more content and longevity than this. I would also suggest different modes of gameplay. But anyways I like the style here, delve into this more, add a little bit of everything.

wow ! :D really complete review. In deed, it was created to be a simple casual game. I'll try to evolve the game without loosing it's simplicity. Thank you very much

Dear gamezhero

I'm sorry for the low score but this is obviously a rip off. No offense but basically this is a christmas themed cut the rope with a different mascot, instead of feeding monster, candies. it was replaced with gifts and exploding balls? This would just be more acceptable at the mobile stores instead. Since no one criticizes or denounces copy cat games cause there are a TON of games like that there.

I really don't know what you're going for here. Is this just a way to reach out to PC users? So that you would promote your copy cat game? But anyways I have to commend you though for making one. It seems like fun for people who don't consider this a rip off and casually just play games. But for me it didn't quite catch out to me.

I would suggest something innovative here. But I'll leave that up to you. Adding more features for this game unlike the mobile version would make this less of an obvious immitator than it is.

Dear Eggy

You've got a nice game going on here. But what's disappointing is that the shop prices are too damn high. Well except the character upgrades though. But still, 150 coins for the first upgrade is too much. You could at least tried to balance it with the character upgrades. I would suggest changing the prices into ranging from 15-30 coins for the first upgrade/weapon then the rest is up to you or alternatively you can increase the coin drop rate.

What's also annoying is that once you shoot off an egg. The coin coming out bounces away from you. Forcing you to either fall off or ignore getting it. Please make it so that the coins would be easier to get. There are also missing SFX like gun sounds. The character was a bit bland. Even though its a stick, you could've made a more appealing character, something relatable to an egg. Frankly despite all of that, it was quite enjoyable. It made me try out a few more rounds before giving up entirely. So yeah I like what you're going here. Keep it up!
